Consumer Representative required for VAHI's Clinical Measurement and Reporting Committee

The Victorian Agency for Health Information (VAHI) is seeking a consumer representative to join its Clinical Measurement and Reporting Committee


The purpose of the committee is to provide high level strategic advice and guidance to VAHI on the development of safety and quality measures of the performance of health services for use in VAHI's reporting products. This includes reports to health service executives and boards, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and to the public through its public reports and the Victorian Health Services Performance website.

The role of the Consumer Representative

The Consumer Representative will be responsible for providing input on a number of topics, including:

  • What measures should be reported to health services, and how health services could use this information to improve care
  • VAHI's public reports and Victorian Health Services Performance website, including what should be reported
  • the development of patient reported outcomes measures (PROMS)

VAHI is looking for a Consumer Representative with knowledge of the health system and an interest in safety and quality reporting. Some familiarity and/or willingness to gain familiarity with what is reported in Victoria and other jurisdictions would be desirable.

Terms of Reference will be made available upon appointment. Papers will be provided to committee members approximately one week in advance of meetings. Committee members are requested to review these papers prior to attending the meeting.

Consumer Representatives are eligible for sitting fees of $161 per half day (two-hour meeting). They are placed on the DHHS payroll and reimbursed electronically following each meeting.
