CONSUMER NOMINEE PROGRAM
Through the Consumer Nominee Program, Health Issues Centre is working to ensure the views of consumers, carers and community members are heard in the design and delivery of health services and in the development of health policy in Victoria and Australia.
Health Issues Centre believes individuals who receive health services in Victoria are well placed to offer feedback and advice as to how services can be improved, where services should be located and how services should be delivered.

Recent nominations
Consumers and community members have recently been nominated by Health Issues Centre to participate in Department of Human Service Committees for Outpatient Reforms, HealthConnect, Care in Your Community and Conference Planning. Other consumers have participated in a National Oral Health Advocacy Day in Canberra, conferences in Victoria and professional development workshops for health professionals.

Consumer Nominee Program - giving all Victorians an opportunity to have a say on health.
The Consumer Nominee Program encourages all Victorians to have their say on health issues and to contribute their experience, knowledge and ideas to improving health care in Victoria.

Upon joining the Consumer Nominee Program you will receive a monthly eNews Bulletin that describes activities, forums, workshops, conferences and discussion groups where you can contribute your ideas and experiences.
The Consumer Nominee Program is funded by the Victorian Department of Human Services. Strict privacy policies are in place to ensure all personal details remain confidential and are used only for the purposes of the Consumer Nominee Program. Information on the Privacy Policy can be obtained by calling Health Issues Centre on (03) 9479 5827.
Individuals with a business enterprise or conflict of interest will be unable to participate in the Consumer Nominee Program.

Process for government and health organisations
In order to request a consumer, carer or community member for a committee, workshop, conference or other consultation process, simply complete this request form and send it to Health Issues Centre via email or post. Once the Form has been received you will be contacted by Health Issues Centre to confirm arrangements.
All advertisements for consumer positions will be made via Health Issues Centre's eNews Bulletin. This Bulletin is distributed in the first week of each month and has a large circulation to individuals and health organisations.
An average recruitment process takes one month, although timelines can be negotiated.
An individual nominated by Health Issues Centre is a general consumer/carer nominee and is NOT a representative of Health Issues Centre. Therefore the views they express are their own and not necessarily those of Health Issues Centre.
Health Issues Centre reserves the right to decline to support an agency with their consumer recruitment.
